Rosport is a town located 10 km from Echternach, halfway along the river Sauer to Grevenmacher. Rosport is famous in Luxembourg for its water intake and mineral water bottling plant. The most expensive mineral water in the principality is the water drawn in this place. Rosport is located in the valley of the Sauer River, which was dammed in this town. The blue autopedestre trail leads through the surrounding hills. Lots of beautiful views, a large elevation gain (265 meters), a reasonable length (about 11 km), and the Mariä Himmelfahrt (Girsterklause) chapel make this trail a great treat for hiking fans.

The magnificent Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is located in the town of Girsterklause in the commune of Rosport-Mompach, above the Sauer valley. The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in the Romanesque style and dates back to the 11th or 12th century. This is the second pilgrimage site in Luxembourg after Echternach. A pilgrimage is made to the miraculous painting of Our Lady of Hieselterheck, a wooden statue of Our Lady from the 13th century. According to legend, the chapel was built by the crusader Elbert von Clervaux. The Romanesque chapel was built in 1329 on the site of an old building. Coins found during excavations and restoration testify to pilgrimages from the beginning of the 14th century.
